Some of my readers, my friends, deserve to know what's new in my life and that is the only reason I'm online right now.
I've
left Dallas. I took all my clothes out of my dad's house, I'm moving
everything else out tomorrow, I'm not staying, I'm not telling why,
except that the police were at my house when I left.
I'll
still be enrolled in RHS for those of you worried about that. I might
get a different job. I probably won't get as much time for a social
life but it isn't like I had much of a social life anyway.
I'm buying a Greyhound ticket as soon as I can, spending a week or so with Gaby in New York, but I will evantually come home.
I
can't live with my mom for health reasons. I'm asking anyone now.. if
you have room and permission to put someone in need up, please tell me.
| If you get this, FUCK YOU, RICHARDSON.
My utmost warmth and devotion goes to every one attending, and I do sincerely hope a rusty nail pierces all your eyes.
| Well, I guess I should say two days. And I know you're all dying for a synopsis, right?
So I show up on Saturday, and the first fifteen or so minutes are spent getting my a shirt, some paperwork, and showing me around the place. They had me working Ticket Redemption that day, and asked this guy Noah to train me. Noah who happens to be really tall and a DDR'er and slightly geeky and sort of cute. x3; It wasn't exactly a difficult job to learn. You learn to hate impatient kids, and controlling parents, but mostly I just stood around and hummed along to whatever DDR song was playing.
Until I had to refill some of the smaller prizes. I was just about to stuff a handful of tootsie rolls into one of the prize jars when I hear "KONEKO!" - a name I haven't gone by since middle school.
The first thought that struck me was "Oh Lord. I know that voice." When I looked up, sure enough, I saw a familiar face. And nearly stopped breathing. " ... MEL?! HOLY SH.. WOW. " There she was, looking exactly the same as the day I first met her except the tips of her hair had been dyed brown and she was carrying a BABY.
He was soo cute! Aww, but still only a week and a half old, so not quite into the heart-melting adorable phase yet. And I couldn't help but feel a little bad for him. But he was still cute! >w<
The father was there too. I'd forgotten that he used to work at Adventure Landing, so when he started telling me about his days in the job that I now held, I got a little weirded out. He was nice enough though.
Still, that whole episode could have made me a lot happier than it did. Oh well.
Skip ahead to that night, two hours before closing. A guy comes in and slaps $600 on the counter with the announcement that he wanted to be able to do whatever the hell he wanted with the place. Which meant he got to drag in six soccer teams of hyper ten-year old boys carted all the way from MEXICO-FRIGGIN-CITY and letting them have their run of the place. Now, the average person earns maybe three hundred tickets in an entire day at AL. These boys were getting about 2000 EACH. And there were like.. thirty of them! So of course they all decide to save their tickets and go for prize redemption at the EXACT SAME TIME.
So here I am, punching numbers into a calculator with one hand as I'm trying to figure out how to charade the sentence "You only have 475 tickets left" because none of them speak any English and I don't speak a word of Spanish, madly scribbling down what prizes I need to restock with the other, as thirty boys with no sense of taking turns or waiting in line crowd around and scream "SIR! SIR!" to get my attention and cry out the names of the prizes they want in an accented tongue. "Odie! Patricio!" Meanwhile I'm struggling to keep thirty different math problems going in my head and the ticket machine next to me is breaking every five minutes at the rate they're feeding tickets to it, and -no one- is helping me. xD; Not until closing time at least.
Oh my GOD.
It was chaotic, but I loved it.
Yesterday I got to make up for it though. I came in thinking I was going to do kitchen duty but ha, that didn't happen. Instead they tell me I'm working Lasertag with Noah.
SCORE!
Lasertag is so awesome. You sit there in a dark room for the entire day, half the time just sitting around. Since there were two of us we got to spend the whole time talking, and it turns out Noah's a pretty awesome guy. The first couple groups came in and I watched him and Noah go through the first few explanations so I could get the hang of it. It's so easy.
The fourth or fifth group came in, and once again we had a problem with none of them speaking English. Guess what they DID speak?
Japanese.
Oh my GOD, the IRONY.
So I got to wow them with a quick Japanese explanation and impress Noah at the same time >3 NOT TO MENTION make up for my confusion with the Mexican Soccer Army. It was so great.
Around nine or so people stopped coming to Lasertag though, so it ended up getting really boring. I was going mad for the next couple of hours, and then we got to close. I messed up a little in cleanup but they covered for me, it was cool. And then I followed Noah to IHOP, we met his friend, and I hung out for about twenty more minutes, finally making a grand entrance at home at around 2:15 AM.
And tonight I'm leaving for mi madres. To do what?
Why, to start my second job. -___-; No, I'm not overworking. Seriously.
More warehouse work at my mom's office. The cool thing is, I make minimum wage Under the Counter - so no taxes. And My hours are basically whenever I feel like working. I get to listen to my CD player all day too, so it's all gravy. Life is good.
I figure I've made just under a hundred dollars in the last two days.
And my schedule for the next week goes as follows:
Tuesday: Warehouse 7:00 - 6:00 ish, minus time to go pick up my schedule. Wednesday: Adventure Landing 11:00 - 5:00 Thursday: Adventure Landing 10:00 - 5:00 Friday: Freshman Scedule Pick-up Saturday: Adventure Landing 11:00 - 5:00 Sunday: Adventure Landing 5:00 - 12:00
Oh! And Brett called today!
I love that boy. :D He's trying to work out a Japanese Club Beginning-of-the-year party. Whoo~ He's also thinking of coming with me to the Freshman Scedule pick up. His reasoning: He wants to step on the little Freshmen. xD; I just want him there so I don't go out of my MIND. <33
Life is good. So good in fact I'm actually writing in my journal again.
